After a great deal of consideration, deliberation, discussion, and ofcourse prayer, we have come to the difficult decision to close Park Side Preschool. We are communicating with the State Licensing Board to determine the exact closure date. The Preschool will continue to operate until we get the final date from the State.
While we understand that this decision will be disappointing and challenging for our staff and the families and children we serve, we believe it is the right decision in order to allow everyone the time and space they need to grieve, and hopefully to heal from the tragedy we all experienced this past fall.

While we had hoped and tried to keep the preschool open and continue to serve the families and children in our community. Last week we received a letter from
the state notifying us that our license to operate has been reviewed and they plan to revoke it. We could choose to address the licensing board’s concerns but have chosen not to appeal their decision. Our hope and prayer is that by choosing to close the school at this time, we will not only provide all the families, children, staff and entire community affected with a more peaceful environment to grieve and heal because of this tragedy.

It has been our honor to serve so many families in our community through this preschool. Our love and prayers go with all our families as you discover new preschools and learning environments for you children.

At Park Side Preschool we emphasize learning through play. We help children develop the desire and confidence to progress and
learn at their own pace. It is our goal to provide a safe, supportive, relaxed, and enjoyable atmosphere for our students. Our program is interactive, developmentally appropriate, and culturally diverse. It cultivates the child's social, emotional, physical, and intellectual development through a well-planned curriculum and activities that encourage self-discovery.
It is important to us that children  understand that learning is fun and school is a joyful place! We offer a” Whole Environment” which encourages children to become lifelong learners  and prepares them well to move on to kindergarten.and intellectual development through a well-planned curriculum and activities that encourage self-discovery.
Park Side is a part time preschool. We accept children who are potty trained and will be at least 2 years and 9 months old at the time they start attending. The maximum age is 5.11 years. Park Side Preschool is a ministry of First Presbyterian Church of Newark (FPCN)
